The etched work of the Slocombe brothers, Charles Philip, Edward, and Frederick was highly popular at the end of the nineteenth century. Most examples of Edward Slocombe’s original etched works are only known today from mass produced publications such as The Portfolio – pencil signed proofs are rare.
