Painter, etcher, writer on ornithology, and principal of Huddersfield, Hull and Liverpool School of Art, George Marples produced an extensive and highly accomplished body of etched works from the end of the First World War until the early 1930’s. His etchings include some of the finest bird subjects to have been produced by any member of the British School.
