Original William Walcot etching with drypoint and aquatint.

Excellent impression from the only edition of 100 signed proofs.

One of Walcot’s best-known London etchings, this view of Piccadilly Circus shows the statue of Eros towards the right of the image whilst the artist, with true architect’s eye, has chosen to focus his attention upon the re-building of the Swan and Edgar store, with its cloak of scaffolding.

On cream wove paper with full margins and deckle edge. Faint indentation at upper plate mark, otherwise very fine condition.
