The Royal Institute of British Architects, in London, was an obvious subject for the most famous architectural etcher of his generation. Having been an architect himself, architecture was William Walcot’s natural subject and architects themselves were amongst his most enthusiastic customers. More than this, Portland Place provided William Walcot with a fascinating array of architectural eras for his needle.

On cream wove paper with full margins. Very fine original condition.
