Original etching and aquatint by Reginald Dent.
Very good signed proof impression, printed with tone. Rare.
One of the few plates on which R.S.G.Dent employed the technique of aquatint, Plucking Geese shows Reggie Dent's parents at their home in Nash, near Newport. This was to become R.S.G.Dent's first exhibited print when shown at the Royal Academy in 1934.
When cataloguing the prints from the Cheltenham Art Gallery's retrospective show of R.S.G.Dent's work in 1991, Jonathan Benington listed this particular print as "rare".
On soft simile Japan paper, with full margins and deckle edge. Minor foxing in lower outer margin, otherwise very good original condition. |
