Original etching and line engraving by L.G. Brammer.

Excellent signed proof impression from the only edition.

After attending the Royal College of Art School of Painting from 1926 to 1929, Leonard Brammer joined the School of Engraving and went on to win the travelling scholarship for engraving in 1930. This print is one of a very few French subjects (only two are listed in Fine Prints of the Year) which resulted from his travels. The image shows the Palace of the Popes at Avignon, capital of the department of Vaucluse, in France.

On cream wove paper, with full margins and deckle edge. Sheet discoloured verso, otherwise generally very good original condition. Image surface excellent.
