Original Graham Clilverd drypoint.

Superb trial proof impression of the freshly completed drypoint design, prior to reduction of the plate. This outstanding example of Graham Clilverd's finest architectural work was presented by the artist to his close personal friend, Miss June Weston. The two remained close right up until Graham Clilverd's death in April 1978 at the age of 95.

The view shows the magnificent entrance gateway of Burlington House on Piccadilly in London's West End. The splendid gateway leads to the courtyard which is home to the Geological Society, the Royal Society of Chemistry, the Linnean Society, the Royal Astronomical Society, and the Society of Antiquaries, as well as the Royal Academy of Arts in the main body of the original house - seen bedecked with its RA banners and exhibition sign through the arched entrances.

On warm white simile Japan paper with full margins. Some minor marginal defects, otherwise very good original condition. Image surface excellent.
