Original wood engraving by Gwenda Morgan.

Excellent impression from the only edition of 50 signed and numbered proofs.

An outstanding example of Gwenda Morgan's work in wood engraving, the medium for which she is now famed. Gwenda Morgan learned her wood engraving skills at the Grosvenor School of Modern Art where she was trained and strongly influenced by the School's principal, Iain Macnab. Both this influence and that of Eric Ravilious, whose work proved an inspiration for Morgan, can be seen clearly in this elaborate engraving of Looking Down on the Street.

On off-white simile Japan paper with full margins and deckle edge. Some slight creasing towards the edges of the sheet, otherwise generally very good original condition. Image surface excellent.
