Original Arthur Briscoe etching.

Exceptionally strong impression with pronounced etched line, from the only edition of 75 signed and numbered proofs.

Ten Knots depicts the square-rigger Lwöw as she along in a fair wind on a fine day, her sails full in the sunlight. In the foreground, on the forecastle of the ship, two of the crew are mending a sail in the shade of the foresail. This is a spledid etching of a typical good day’s sailing aboard a traditional square-rigger.

On warm cream laid paper with armorial crest watermark, with full margins and deckle edge. Very good original condition.
