Very fine signed proof impression printed in brownish black ink. Apparently a trial proof printing in this ink tone, aside from the normal edition of 35 impressions printed in black ink.
A Street Scene, Five Towns is the archetypal Brammer image. With its heavy, brooding sky, this depiction of an urban landscape dominated by its distinctive pottery kilns captures perfectly the twilight years of a once great industry.
On cream laid paper, watermarked Hand Made, with full margins. Evidence of previous mounting at extreme outer edges of sheet, faintest suggestion of time tone within mat window area, otherwise very fine original condition. |
