Quirk’s Yard shows a farm on the Isle of Man, not far from Molly Quirk’s Glen – a small wooded glen which runs parallel to the quietly flowing Groudle River, near Onchan. The area takes its name from the legend of one Molly Kirk, a local woman, who was said to have been robbed and murdered here.
Provenance: Collection of Dr.W.S. Coutts.
On cream laid paper, with full margins and deckle edge. Some minor foxing, otherwise very good condition. |
