Very good, strong proof impression with rich drypoint burr. One of only about 50 impressions printed from this plate.
As D.Y. Cameron’s work progressed, he was drawn increasingly to the desolate grandeur of the Scottish highland landscapes and to the bleak scenery of the lochs and surrounding inlets. These he portrayed in a novel minimalist manner, contrasting the darkness of the landscape with the open brilliance of an expansive sky and its reflection in the waters.
On fine antique laid paper with full margins and deckle edge. Very fine original condition. |
