Beautiful atmospheric impression, printed from three blocks in deep blue, brown and black inks. Signed and inscribed “Trial Pull” by the artist in pencil. Unique.

This enchanting view of moored gondolas set against a backdrop of the famed skyline of Venice and silhouetted by the rising moon is striking in its simplicity yet it captures perfectly the mood of this romantic city. It is only to be regretted that William Monk did not make his beautifully atmospheric colour prints more widely available through published editions.

On cream laid paper, with full margins. Faintest suggestion of minor foxing in outer margins only, otherwise very good original condition.
