Original Robert Currie etching.

This densely worked plate is typical of Robert Currie’s original etchings, all of which are landscape views, often with an element of genre characteristic of the Victorian era.

The Scottish etcher Robert Currie contributed a number of original etchings to the English Etchings series and is also known to have made at least a dozen independent plates. Based in Perthshire, he was also known as a painter in oils, exhibiting at the Royal Academy in London in 1885.

On warm white wove paper with full margins and deckle edge. One abrasion in outer margin of sheet, otherwise very good original condition. Image surface, excellent.
