Original William Walcot etching with drypoint.

Excellent signed proof impression from the only edition.

One of the six subjects comprising William Walcot’s The London Set, published by H.C. Dickins in 1924. This view of Piccadilly Circus shows the statue of Eros seen from the north side, looking towards the Criterion theatre (at the left of the image) and the famous sports store, Lillywhites. Two open-topped omnibuses, with their curved back stairs, can be seen at the right of the image heading down towards Lower Regent Street.

On cream wove paper with wide margins. Faint suggestion of time tone in outer margins only, otherwise very fine original condition.
