The artist has created a mood of romantic naturalism in this charming work in which two wild birds accompany the music of a lone wayfarer as he lazes in a landscape with a distant alpine view.

On cream wove paper with full margins and deckle edge. Water stain at lower right corner of sheet in outer margin only, otherwise very fine original condition.
