Biography
One of the earliest contributors to the Society of Wood Engravers and a respected teacher of wood engraving technique, John F. Greenwood is best known for his skilfully rendered landscape subjects. His imaginative use of the white-line technique is particularly well suited to capturing the effects of light and shadow, enhancing both the mood and the remarkable sense of perspective found in all of his engravings.
