The skilled and imaginative printmaker William Arthur Narbeth was a finalist for the Prix de Rome in his last year at Goldsmith’s College but, like so many of the talented young etchers who came to the scene towards the tail end of the etching revival, the collapse of the market for original black-and-white prints resulted in a very limited output which has never been fully documented.
