Very fine impression from the collections of the two great printmakers Stanley Anderson and Robert Sargent Austin. Inscribed by Anderson in pencil.
One of 100 large paper impressions issued in the portfolio entitled Thirty Illustrations to Rudyard Kipling’s Short Stories, published by Macmillan & Co. in 1901.
On cream wove paper, watermarked O.W.P & A.C.L, with full margins and deckle edge. Very fine original condition.
Provenance: From the personal collection of Stanley Anderson – inscribed by Anderson in pencil “Lent by Stanley Anderson”. Subsequently passed to his friend, Robert Sargent Austin. Thence by descent to Rachel Austin, one of the artist’s two daughters. |
