Superb, rich impression with fresh drypoint burr. Signed in pencil within the image, as was normal for proofs of this particular image. One of only 15 impressions printed from the completed plate (only 3 impressions were printed in the first state).

A particularly beautiful example of this portrait of the artist’s daughter Jeanne (1880-1964). This rare portrait study was etched on the reverse side of a plate used for Theodore Roussel’s A Study for Summer (Hausberg 4). The plate was never cut down and was considerably larger than this print would imply, impressions being trimmed by the artist after they had been printed.

On firm wove paper, as trimmed by the artist. Very fine condition.
