Outstanding signed proof impression from the only edition.

It was in these biuldings at the Etruria factory that Wedgwood's famous pottery was created for nearly 200 years. Once the basic pottery shapes had been made, they would be taken to the decorating shops for the designs and bas-reliefs to be added before the next stage of the manufacturing process.

Leonard Brammer grew up in nearby Burslem and was, from his infancy, exposed to the fine craftsmanship and distinctive images of the Potteries. Through his prints Brammer captured not only the striking visible imagery of the Potteries, but also the foreboding atmosphere which conveyed that the life and character of the landscape of his forefathers was never to be the same again.

On cream wove paper, with full margins. Some foxing to sheet, otherwise very good original condition.
