Original soft ground etching and mezzotint by Leonard Brammer.

Exceptionally rich presentation proof from the edition of only 25 signed and numbered impressions.

Etruria Hall, constructed between 1768 and 1771, was the home of Josiah Wedgwood.

Inscribed in ink “Eturia Hall” s.g.etching &mezzotint. L.G. Brammer, R.E. Print for Mrs. Robert D. Chellis. This darkly brooding work, which shows a view of Etruria Hall from across the main canal, is unusual in its technique, having been drawn onto the plate for creation as a soft ground etching and then darkened atmospherically with the addition of mezzotint engraving.

On cream laid paper, with full margins and deckle edge. Mat line and time tone in outer margins, otherwise very good original condition. Image surface excellent.
