Original Eileen Alice Soper etching.
Very fine signed proof impression from the only published edition, as issued by H.C. Dickins. With the rose blindstamp dated 1922 in the margin at the lower left corner of the sheet.
One of the most enduring of Eileen Alice Soper’s etched images, Bedtime shows a young girl waiting for her parents to close the curtains and say good-night – Soper has captured the scene perfectly, including the teddy bear and every detail of the patchwork quilt in a way that only a child would observe but with the dextrous line of an etcher way beyond her years.
On cream wove paper with full margins and deckle edges. Faint time tone in upper margin, otherwise very fine original condition. Image condition excellent.
