Excellent signed proof impression of the completed image from the artist’s own personal collection. A particularly strong proof impression printed after the dark foreground work and shaded areas had been much strengthened by further biting with the mordant.
The Aiguille de Varens is one of the most dramatic peaks in the Haute-Savoie region of the French Alps.
On cream laid paper, watermarked Arches (France), with full margins and deckle edge. Mild time tone at extreme edge of sheet in lower margin, otherwise very good original condition. Image surface excellent |
