This plate depicts exactly the same view as the matching etching; however, in this drypoint version the image has been drawn directly on to the plate from life and thus has printed the view in reverse to nature.
It has been suggested that this view shows Avalon House in South Place, Penzance; however, this is not the case.
On cream laid paper, watermarked Abbey Mills Greenfield, with full margins and deckle edge. Very fine original condition. |
