Original Eleanor Hughes etching with ink and chalk alterations.

Unique working proof impression amended by Eleanor Hughes with white chalk and black ink to indicate the intended alterations to the tree nearest to the house chimney just right of centre. In this state cross-hatching has been added to the shading on the wall at the extreme left of the image and the hilltop has been introduced above this area. Eleanor Hughes used this impression as a guide proof and the extreme outer corners of the sheet have pinholes where it was once attached to the artist’s studio tackboard.

Signed with the artist’s signature stamp. From the artist’s own personal collection.

On cream wove paper with full margins and deckle edge. Very good original condition.
