Original Arthur Briscoe etching.
Very good impression printed with considerable plate tone; numbered 3 from the edition of only 30 signed and numbered proofs.
At only 30 impressions, Gulls is the smallest edition of any of Arthur Briscoe’s published etchings. Briscoe made only one other etching of seagulls some ten years earlier – a work which remained unpublished; however, his sketchbooks are filled with studies of gulls made throughout his life.
On warm white laid paper with full margins. Very fine condition. |
