Harry Morley was much influenced by Italian art and he lived in Italy for short periods throughout his life, returning whenever he could. This image shows two Italian peasants – the title of the work being derived from ‘the bill’ which the man is seen studying.
On cream wove paper with full margins. Evidence of previous mounting at corners verso, otherwise generally very good original condition. |
