It is for his splendid topographical etchings of London, such as this view of the Tate Gallery and Millbank, seen from the southern bank of the Thames, that Nathaniel Sparks is now best known. Nathaniel Sparks was an outstanding technician who had worked with Sir Frank Short and for J.A.McN. Whistler – he acted as a full-time printer for Whistler, printing the finest proofs of his famous Venice plates.
On soft simile Japan paper, with full margins. Very fine condition. |
