Very strong signed proof impression, as issued in the rare North Holland Set (only one proof exists in the first state).
Acknowledged as one of the finest views in the North Holland Set, Zaandam Windmills encapsulates the typical Dutch scene. D.Y. Cameron prepared twenty-two different subjects for this set of Dutch views – only 10 complete sets and a very few separate impressions were ever printed. Complete sets are now of the greatest rarity and individual impressions from this series are amongst the most scarce of D.Y. Cameron’s printed works.
On fine cream laid paper, with full margins and deckle edge. Very good condition. |
