The Boddin 1911 |

Original drypoint. Signed in pencil. Ref: Rinder 428 vi/vii S 192 x 303 mm; P & I 125 x 177 mm SOLD |
|
Original D.Y. Cameron drypoint.
Very fine working proof impression, before the addition of lines to indicate a slope in the central foreground and before minor work elsewhere throughout the plate. Signed proof in Rinder’s sixth state (of seven), prior to the only edition.
Sir David Young Cameron chose The Boddin as the subject for two of his drypoints and also for two oil paintings. The view shows lime kilns at Lunan Bay on the Angus coast of Scotland.
On fine laid paper, with full margins and deckle edge. Faintest suggestion of one or two isolated foxing spots and mild time tone within mat window area, otherwise very fine original condition. |
