Original Graham Clilverd drypoint.
Very fine impression from the only edition of 150 signed proofs.
The wooden crucifix depicted in Graham Clilverd’s drypoint hangs in the church of Santa Maria Novella in Florence. This celebrated sculpture was made by Filippo Brunelleschi in c.1413 following a disagreement with Donatello concerning the style in which a Christ on the cross should be portrayed (Donatello’s crucifix can be found in the church of Santa Croce in Florence).
On cream laid paper with margins. Slight creasing to sheet, otherwise very good original condition. |
