Excellent signed proof impression from the only edition.
This particular subject was derived from a visit to Lucerne, in Switzerland, in the late summer and early autumn of 1980. The challenge of interpreting the transparency of the covers on the jam pots through the etched medium especially fascinated the artist while preparing this plate.
Wilfred Fairclough exhibited an impression of this etching at the Royal Society of Painter-Etchers and Engravers in 1984 and at the Royal Academy in 1985.
On cream wove paper with full margins. Very good original condition. |
