Original William Walcot etching with drypoint.

Very fine signed proof impression from the only edition, as issued in William Walcot’s most important portfolio, The Arteries of Great Britain in 1922.

William Walcot’s splendid view of the Firth of Forth, with its impressive metal railway bridge, is the most famous of the five etchings which he made for The Arteries of Great Britain. Widely regarded as his most significant series of etchings, these plates depict some of the most important commercial waterways of Great Britain and they represent William Walcot’s finest river views.

On pale cream wove paper, with wide margins. Mat line in outer margins due to previous mount, otherwise generally very good condition.
