Excellent, rich impression with deep blacks. Signed proof from the only edition.

This poetic nocturne is one of the most scarce of Percival Gaskell’s prints today and no impressions were found with the artist’s estate when it was dispersed thirty years ago. This particular proof impression appears to have some strange hand working on and above the distant mountain, suggesting a faint darkened plume from its summit.

On warm white wove paper with full margins. Mild discolouration verso, otherwise generally very good original condition.
