Original Kenneth Broad woodcut.

Very good impression with strong, bright colours from the only edition of 150 signed and numbered proofs.

The accomplished colour woodcuts of Kenneth Broad record daily life in and around London and parts of northern France during the 1920’s and early 1930’s. This busy image shows the crowds at the new fair on Mitcham Common in south London. A traction engine is seen in the background, the steam from its funnel rising above the striped awnings and tents.

Kenneth Broad exhibited an impression of this original woodcut at the Arts & Crafts Exhibition Society's 13th exhibition, the Royal Academy, in 1926.

On simile Japan paper, with margins as issued. Generally very good original condition.
