Original Francis Seymour Haden drypoint.

Excellent, richly printed signed proof impression with considerable drypoint burr.

An especially beautiful example of this pleasing river landscape. In many ways Wareham Bridge typifies Francis Seymour Haden’s landscape work with its partially obscured distant buildings, heavily worked foreground vegetation and one of the artist's a favourite motifs - a figure mounted on one horse whilst leading another. This plate provides an excellent example of how F.S.Haden allowed the white of the paper to complete an image - in this sense he was truly Impressionistic.

On pale cream wove paper with margins. Excellent condition.
