Original D.Y. Cameron drypoint.
Very good, signed proof impression with strong drypoint burr, printed with delicate plate tone. One of only about 50 impressions printed from this plate.
As Sir David Young Cameron’s work progressed, he was drawn increasingly to the desolate grandeur of the Scottish highland landscapes and to the bleak scenery of the lochs and surrounding inlets. These he portrayed in a novel minimalist manner, contrasting the darkness of the landscape with the open brilliance of an expansive sky and its reflection in the waters.
On antique laid paper with Fleur-de-Lys watermark, with full margins. Very good original condition. |
