In his characteristic manner, George Collins has lavished extraordinary attention upon his detailed etching of the subject bird, whilst leaving the surrounding vegetation in comparative outline. By this means he has focused the viewer’s attention upon a bird which would normally use its natural habitat to obscure itself from view.
On cream wove paper with full margins. Minor discolouration at extreme outer edges of sheet, otherwise generally very good original condition. |
