Biography

William Strang produced one of the most significant bodies of original etched work by any Scottish artist of the period. Sometimes symbolic and often dour to the point of being macabre, his work is distinguished by a sense of realism, its solid compositions and its confident handling. Noted for its technical excellence, William Strang’s work has always been admired by both artists and critics alike; it continues to be amongst the most sought after of all Scottish original prints.
