Le Louvre

Le Louvre   c.1921

Original etching.

Very good, strong impression with crisp etched line. The plate has been almost clean wiped for this fine proof impression, in order to increase the contrast between the darkness of the archway and the brilliance of the view beyond.

Statue   c.1920

Original etching with drypoint.

Very good, strong impression, aside from the declared signed edition.
From the collection of David Strang, the printer of C.R.W.Nevinson's plates.

Original lithograph.

Excellent signed proof impression from the only edition.

M.T. (Motor Transport) sold

M.T. (Motor Transport)   1918

Original woodcut.

One of the most rare of C.R.W.Nevinson's groundbreaking First World War works.

Particularly good, strong proof impression printed in brown ink.
Signed and titled "Motor Transport" by Nevinson in pencil.

M. T. or Motor Transport is one of the only two original woodcuts made by
C.R.W. Nevinson, each printed in editions of only 12 impressions; as such, it is one of
the most scarce of all of Nevinson’s printed works. Only one other impression of either of these woodcuts has appeared on the commercial market since 1980.
