Pheasant Shooting   1857

Original etching.

Very fine impression with crisp etched line,
from the only published edition, as issued in 1857 by the Etching Club.

Frederick Tayler is famous as a painter and etcher of sporting subjects. His work was much admired by Queen Victoria who purchased several of his pictures, which are now in the Royal collection. He was a regular contributor to the Etching Club, producing numerous etchings which are handled with a lively rapidity perfectly suited to their subject matter. [more]
