Rare lifetime proof impression printed by E.T. Daniell on fine off-white paper. Inscribed in pencil verso “Trees at Quidenham”. Early impressions of the Reverend Edward Thomas Daniell’s etched works are extremely rare as, in most cases, no formal edition was ever printed.
Clump of Trees at Quidenham is typical of Reverend Edward Thomas Daniell’s quiet and understated landscape views.The village of Quidenham, just visible at the left of this etching, is about two miles from Banham where E.T. Daniell was curate. It was, at that time, part of the estate of the Earl of Albemarle.

On fine off-white paper with margins as prepared by the artist. One short repair at lower edge of sheet. Some areas of slight skinning verso, otherwise very good condition. A particularly fine early example of this rare etching. |
