Original Martin Hardie drypoint.

Excellent signed proof impression with rich drypoint burr. Tipped at upper corners to the menu of the Omar Khayyám Club for their dinner in November 1930. One of only 60 proofs published specifically for this menu (total edition 90).

Woodbridge in Suffolk was the home of Edward Fitzgerald, translator of the Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyám. Martin Hardie was Vice-President of the Omar Khayyám Club at the time of the dinner for which this drypoint was used. The famous 18th-century tide mill depicted in this image still stands today.

On cream laid paper with margins, as issued. Excellent original condition.
