Original Stanley Anderson drypoint.
Excellent impression with burr, from the only edition of 80 signed proofs.
Anderson’s impressive panoramic view of Albi is the most sought after of the varied etchings and drypoints portraying this picturesque French town on the river Tarn. Albi has long been associated with artists and as birthplace of Toulouse-Lautrec is now home to the museum in his memory. During the Etching Revival many British artists visited Albi and it remains a select retreat for Britons today.
On cream wove paper with full margins and deckle edge. One small mark in sky area; mild time tone within mat window area and verso, otherwise very good original condition. |
