Original Edmund Blampied drypoint.

Outstanding impression with exceptionally rich drypoint burr. The superb quality of this impression, printed from the freshly completed drypoint plate, shows the remarkable chiaroscuro of this design at its best. From the only edition of 100 signed and numbered proofs. The plate was cancelled in October 1920, immediately after this edition had been printed.

Throughout his life, Edmund Blampied retained a remarkable ability to depict every attitude of the horse, from memory, with the facile touch of his drypoint needle. No other artist has captured the essence of farming life in Jersey with such fidelity as Edmund Blampied in his original drypoints and etchings.

On cream laid paper with full margins and deckle edge. Excellent original condition.
