There is a deep sense of religious commitment to all of the works by this highly expressive printmaker. In this profoundly spiritual landscape work the artist has created an image which is at once tinged with a mood of romantic naturalism and yet richly symbolic. Ruckdeschel’s work of this nature may be compared directly with the works of the German symbolist etcher, Heinrich Vogeler.

On heavy cream wove paper with full margins and deckle edge. Some minor defects in outer margins towards edges of sheet, otherwise very good original condition.
