Eric Wilfred Taylor is one of the group of original etchers who studied under Malcolm Osborne at the Royal College of Art during the early 1930’s. He was runner-up to Wilfred Fairclough for the Prix to Rome in engraving in 1934. It was largely on the strength of this plate of Somerset Farm, one of E.W.Taylor’s few post-war etchings, that he secured his election to full member of the Royal Society of Painter-Etchers and Engravers in 1948.

On cream wove paper, watermarked J. Whatman, with full margins and deckle edge. Very good original condition.
