Frank Hill has succeeded in described the varied contours of the landscape in Langdale Pikes through the wide variety of patterns which he has created with the cutting tools.

This well-known view will be familiar to many tourists who visit the Lake District, in north western England, every year. This picturesque area is particularly popular with hill walkers. This classic view of the Langdale Pikes, the two rocky peaks which dominate the valley of Langdale, shows these two landmarks from near the principal tourist area of Windermere.

On smooth simile Japan paper with margins. Laid on a dated support sheet, as prepared by the artist himself for his own reference collection.
