Original linocut, printed in green ink. S & I 297 x 205 mm SOLD |
|
Unique working proof printed in green ink from the main outline cut or 'key block' alone.
Although the published edition of this original linocut by Guy Malet was issued as 25 signed proofs, almost all impressions of this splendid linocut were destroyed by water and this work is now very rare indeed. The image depicts a landscape near the northern coastline of Southern Ireland.
On fine Japan-style paper, trimmed to the image as prepared by the artist himself. Generally very fine original condition.
Provenance: The studio of Guy Malet. |
